Chimney breast removal

Four checks
Is the breast on the party wall or on an outside wall of your own? Is the neighbour’s breast staying? What is holding up the remaining masonry? Are you taking the stack out through the loft as well?
If it is wholly internal to a detached house, it may sit outside the Act. Send a plan either way. We will not issue a certificate that no notice is required.
