Rear extensions
A single-storey rear extension on a terrace may cut into or bear on the party wall and may dig a trench close to the neighbour.

Depth and distance decide the excavation question. A planning elevation does not. If two houses are affected, say so. The from-price for notices is per adjoining owner.
