Privacy notice
We need names, addresses, drawings and correspondence to run a Party Wall file. This notice explains what is collected, why, and how long it is kept. It is written for this product preview and should be adopted by the operating company with its own legal review.
General information. Status: pending project-specific review by a qualified Party Wall professional. House-style review 27 September 2026.
Who is responsible
The operating company behind PartyWallSurvey.uk will be the controller for enquiry and case-administration data. An appointed surveyor is often an independent controller for the professional work they do after appointment. That split should be set out in the engagement letter. Requires review by a qualified UK data-protection adviser.
What we collect
- Identity and contact details
- Property addresses and ownership information you give us
- Drawings, photographs and notices
- Messages, call notes and service records
- Payment status
- Marketing source, such as a campaign name, if you arrived from an advert and cookies are allowed
Why
To answer the enquiry, prepare documents you have asked for, introduce a professional, take payment, and keep an audit trail of statutory paperwork. Marketing messages are separate and only sent if you opt in. Service messages about an open file are not marketing.
How long
Enquiry records that do not become a case: 24 months, then delete or anonymise. Case files including notices and Awards: 12 years from closure, because construction disputes can surface late, then review. Insurance certificates from partners: life of the relationship plus six years. This schedule is an operating proposal, not a completed retention policy.
Your requests
You can ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion where we are not required to keep the statutory record. Requests are logged. We may need to confirm you are the person the file is about before releasing neighbour correspondence.
This preview stores what you type in your own browser so you can try the workflow. Do not upload a real title document or a neighbour’s private letter into the preview.
