Who is this for?
I am planning work
Lofts, extensions, steels, chimneys or excavation. Find out what to prepare.
I have received a notice
See your options. Consent is not assumed, and dissent is not treated as a problem.
I am referring a client
Architects, builders and engineers can send drawings and follow the file.
I am a Party Wall surveyor
Take qualified matters with an audit trail. You remain the appointed professional.
Do I need a Party Wall Notice?
Open the checkerThese are the projects people ask about. The checker will not tell you that you do not need a notice. If the Act may apply, a professional review is the next step.
How it works
01
Tell us the works
A short check, then drawings. No statutory conclusion from the form.
02
A person sets the route
Notice type, owners and timing are confirmed by a reviewer.
03
Serve only when approved
Drafts stay labelled until a professional and the owner sign the step off.
04
Track the response
Consent, dissent or silence each open a different, human-led path.
Building owners
You want the project to keep moving without a neighbour dispute you did not see coming. We separate the notice fee from later surveyor fees, and we will not tell you that service equals a start date.
Notice serviceAdjoining owners
You want to know what the letter means and how to protect the house. You can consent, dissent, or ask a question. We do not write to you as if disagreement were unreasonable.
I received a noticeIndicative fees, not a guarantee
Indicative pricing. Scope, number of owners, drawings, works and neighbour response can affect the final fee.

One file
Drawings, notices, proof of service, messages and invoices stay on the case, with versions.
A hard gate
If the professional has not approved the version, it cannot be marked served.
Independent surveyors
Where section 10 applies, you are introduced to a separate firm. We do not issue the Award.
Where we are opening
North London first, then the Home Counties where a verified partner has capacity. Each area page explains the local housing, not a copied paragraph with the town name swapped.
From the guide
All 52 guidesPlain-English notes on notices, dissents, lofts and fees. None of them is a ruling on your house.
Reviews
Reviews are requested only after a verified case is closed. None are published yet. We will not invent ratings, and we will not show a neighbour’s address beside a comment.
No verified reviews to show
When a review exists it will carry a first name or initial, a project type, and a source such as platform-verified. Negative reviews are not deleted to tidy the average.
Questions people ask first
Do you issue the Party Wall Award yourselves?
No. Awards are prepared and served by the surveyor or surveyors who have been appointed. This platform drafts, stores and tracks documents, and it stops a statutory document from being marked served until a named professional has approved it.
Are you a law firm or a RICS-regulated firm?
No. PartyWallSurvey.uk is not a law firm and is not presented as a RICS-regulated firm. Individual partners may hold professional memberships. Those are shown only when they are marked verified on that partner’s file.
Does serving a notice mean I can start?
No. Serving a notice does not automatically allow works to start. Response periods, consents or Awards, and entirely separate permissions — planning, building regulations, leases, licences and structural design — can all still apply.
Can you make my neighbour agree?
No. We will not say that consent is guaranteed. Neighbours may consent, dissent, or not reply. Each of those has a process, and dissent is a lawful choice.
How much does a notice cost?
Straightforward residential notice-only work is shown from £99 plus VAT per adjoining owner. A notice with a professional project review is shown from £195 plus VAT per adjoining owner. Urgent preparation is shown from £295 plus VAT per adjoining owner. These are indicative from-prices, not a guaranteed quote.
Bring the drawings. Leave with a next step.
Free eligibility triage. A quote only where the file is straightforward enough to price. A person where it is not.
General guidance only. Project-specific Party Wall advice and statutory documents are reviewed by appropriately qualified professionals. PartyWallSurvey.uk is not a law firm.
