Surveyors

Agreed surveyor or two surveyors?

An agreed surveyor is a single person appointed by both owners. If either owner wants their own surveyor, the two-surveyor route is the ordinary alternative.

This is general information for England and Wales. It is not a decision on your building. Status: pending project-specific review by a qualified Party Wall professional. House-style review 27 September 2026.

How this platform talks about it

We explain both paths. We do not lean on an adjoining owner to accept the building owner’s choice. Appointment is a written step between the owner and the surveyor. An introduction on this site is not that appointment.

The surveyor remains an independent firm. PartyWallSurvey.uk does not act as the appointed surveyor.

A Party Wall Notice does not replace planning permission, building regulations approval, leaseholder or freeholder consent, or structural advice. This platform does not provide legal advice and does not issue Awards.
