The third surveyor
When two surveyors are appointed they select a third, who can be called on if they do not agree. The third is not a helpline and is not appointed by this website.

What owners should expect
You may be told the third surveyor’s name early, and then hear nothing more if the two surveyors resolve the Award themselves. Being selected is not the same as being called in.
Fees of a third surveyor, if they are engaged, are dealt with in that process. They are not inside a notice-only price.
